Next on our list of ways to deal with a narcissistic partner is reaching out for help from a specialist. Whether or not your partner is getting treatment for their disorder, it can also be a good idea to talk to a therapist yourself.

In addition to helping you understand and learn about your partner’s mental health condition, a therapist can provide support and guidance. While your partner may be sending you subtle or blatant messages that your needs don’t matter, a mental health expert can remind you to prioritize yourself.

A therapist can also help you recognize when your partner uses narcissistic tactics, such as manipulation, and when this behavior crosses into abuse.
