There’s no point in denying the fact that love can do a big number on us. It might not be easy, but it sure is one of the most beautiful feelings in the world! You really don’t need to go very far to hear something or someone talking about love. When we’re in love, our brains stop functioning properly, and we can’t think of anything else.

In fact, the oldest-written love song describes the feeling pretty accurately: “You have fully captivated me; let me stand trembling before you,” as it reads in the translation of “The Love Song for Shu-Sin,” dating from 2000 B.C.

Obviously, there are more modern examples, such as all the romantic comedies and sentimental tales that talk about soulmates. However, these are a bit harder to swallow, especially since Cupid’s arrows didn’t strike the other party just as hard.
