Match
In a way, Match is the granddaddy of dating services, and it turns 28 years old this year. However, after all this time, it’s still not considered outdated.
Probably the most fascinating thing about Match is that it comes with a guarantee: if you don’t find love within 6 months of your paid subscription on Match, the next six months are free.
Once you fill out a personality and interest test, the dating app will start suggesting potential partners. If you want to access its communication features, like seeing who liked and matched with you, you will have to pay $22.99/month for six months. But let’s be honest, we would all pay the price for a great love story, right?
OkCupid
A group of friends from Harvard University made the app in 2004. The app has different gender options for users from which you can choose, like nonconforming, gender fluid, interse* and transgender, and many different orientation options (whether you’re straight, queer, or questioning).
Users have access to curated matches, depending on a questionnaire about personality and interests, which takes less than five minutes. Let’s just say that OkCupid says they make 90 million matches on a yearly basis, so it’s definitely a great place to find a good partner.
Tinder
I think Tinder has probably become the most popular dating app, but it has also earned the reputation of a hookup app, where people aren’t looking for anything serious.
However, that’s not really the case for women over 50, because they have access to plenty of Tinder features that are a bit more serious. Since the app is also swipe-based, you can swipe right on the people you find interesting and connect with them.
Some additional profile details like age, gender, and a short bio might help you decide, too.
