Tread lightly when it comes to children.

Parenthood can complicate matters. Getting children to understand a new relationship can be tough. You don’t want children to feel like you’re trying to replace their father or mother.

When dating a widower, remember that a lot of the apprehension, on everyone’s part, is rooted in fear and doubt.

Respect their grief during special occasions.

When dating a widower, you MUST be considerate of their feelings. There could be times when all you can and should do is be by their side and be respectful. Anniversaries, birthdays, or death anniversaries can be challenging for your partner.

You should ask them if you can do anything to help. Suppose they want to be alone. That’s okay. And you should respect that. You can’t just erase your partner’s memories of their deceased spouse. But you CAN always create new traditions and memories together.
