You truly respect each other

Respect is essential in any healthy relationship. If your significant other doesn’t admire you for who you truly are, then you shouldn’t even think that you’ve met your soulmate. They should care about your feelings and ideas, not try to dismiss them with every chance they got. On top of that, they should appreciate and love you and always treat you accordingly.

You respect each other’s differences, but you still agree on what matters

You might never get to decide what TV show you should watch together or what toppings to get on a shared pizza, and that’s fine. Just because you’ve met your soulmate doesn’t mean you have to share absolutely everything together, including your own tastes. However, when it comes to the important things in life, such as values, you need to be on the same page.

You share the same life goals

Since we’re talking about important things: when it comes to life goals, you need to have similar plans. This doesn’t mean that you necessarily have to have the same career paths or work in the same place.

But you need to set the record straight regarding the most important aspects of your lives, such as families and values. There might be disagreements here and there, but at the end of the day, you guys are still on the same page when it comes to the big stuff.
