I think it’s no surprise that more than 50% of marriages fail when couples reach their 50s and 60s. However, it’s even sadder to know that the number is rising. Have you ever even wondered what it is about couples nowadays that make everyone want to get a divorce? Today, we’re going to talk about what drives women after 50 toward such decisions.

First of all, it’s worth noting that we’re all living much longer, and I guess this is one of the main things that makes women wonder what’s going on with their lives. Nowadays, reaching your 50s means that the fun has just started, and not necessarily in a way that makes women go clubbing again, but more like an overall reevaluation of their life choices.

So women are asking themselves if their current marriages are worth spending the next 25–30 years with their current spouse, and as it turns out, most answers are negative. And that’s why we have so much power: when we have enough emotional space to perform a life review, we’re going to start asking all kinds of serious questions about what really matters to us.
