1. Philia (Affectionate Love)

Probably you have that one friend that you met years and years ago, clicked instantly, and after all this time you are still friends. They’ve been there for you through all the hardships of life, and you’ve also been there for them.

According to the ancient Greeks, this type of love is called “philia”, and it is considered an important type of love that takes place between equals. Philia stands for the affection shared between friends, which is frequently just as significant as romantic love.

Of all of the types of love that we are about to present, this one is purely a strong mental connection between two friends who have been through hard times. Since physical attraction is not a required component of love, Plato came up with the concept of platonic love. However, anybody who has experienced philia would realize that friendship love may still be deep and powerful.

The catalyst for this type of love is the mind. That means the mind is the one that sparks the love between friends. If you want to show your friends that you love them, you can do some of the following things: Try to be open and trustworthy; be as supportive as you can when your friend needs it; and don’t forget to engage in deep and meaningful conversations.
