How to improve communication between you and your partner?

One thing that I know for sure is that communication is key to every long-lasting romantic connection. So, the best decision that you and your partner can make about your relationship is to improve this aspect as much as possible.

Do you know that sense of connection and unlimited understanding that we usually expect from our romantic relationships? You certainly do! You’ve probably experienced it a couple of times. It feels wonderful. And that’s exactly why we crave it so badly.

But in order to achieve this feeling of fulfillment and harmony in a relationship, you and your partner need to level up your communication skills. Being able to efficiently communicate your emotions and demands is one of the most important parts of a happy romantic connection between two people.

It usually helps to smooth the waters in case of an argument and also get you and your partner on the same page regarding your preferences and interests. So, if you want to step up your communication game, stay with us and find out all about it right now!

Find out what are your communication styles

First of all, how can you improve the communication between you and your partner if you are not even aware of the way you like to express your feelings? We’re not all marching to the same beat, and that’s why it’s so important to know what our communication styles are and how we can find a middle ground.

There are four main communication styles as follows: passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive, and assertive. The desired style of all of this is the last one, assertive communication. People who have this way of communicating know what they want, and they are also very skilled at expressing what they want. Isn’t that perfect? Well, yes, it is, and that’s why most of us are part of the other three categories.

The passive communicator keeps all of their emotions and feelings inside, and they can’t say a hard “NO” when needed. The ones who have an aggressive communication style are direct and loud, and they usually start fights when they are trying to express what they want in a relationship. And last but not least, the passive-aggressive style uses sarcasm and irony while trying to avoid a real discussion or a fight.

When trying to communicate better with your partner, you have to be aware of all of this. After you are sure that you know what style your loved one has, you can start to try and make things better. It is all a trial-and-error game. Do they prefer a more direct approach? Or maybe they want you to be gentle and always use a mellow tone when talking about important matters. Take your time and discover everything that you need to understand.

Did you know that there are 3 keys to intimacy and passion?

You’ve probably already heard about feminine and masculine energies. There are many theories about them, and right now we are going to take a look at one that we think will help you communicate better with your partner.

Masculine and feminine energies are opposite and will always complement each other. They usually make a great team if you want to put in the effort. More than that, each of them has three “keys” that will enable their full potential.

The feminine energy needs to feel seen, understood, and safe. They want you to appreciate them and be present with them when they need you. They want to feel heard and understood, and for that, you need to learn to listen. Also, the feminine energy desires to be in a safe space; it wants you to create that space. This safety should be both physical and emotional.

On the other hand, masculine energies need to be praised; they need freedom, and they also appreciate openness. Appreciate your male energy partner through celebration when you think that’s appropriate. Also, let your emotions flow, because in this way you can help them feel more comfortable and also encourage them to share their feelings and emotions with you.

Discover and explore the 6 human needs

Our core values are an essential part of who we are, and they dictate the way we see the world around us and the decisions we make. So, if we are going to talk about the six human needs, our core values are the ones that shape everything about them.

We all have desires and needs, and if you want to communicate better with your partner, it is crucial to know what their specific needs are. As we said before, the best approach to that is to listen to them and discuss everything that you don’t understand.

The first need we are going to talk about is the need for certainty. We all want to have the best life possible without experiencing any painful scenarios, and we all want to have a safe place. Now you have to ask, “How is your partner feeling in this relationship?” Are they feeling safe? Since we all have particular needs when it comes to comfort, you should talk with your loved one about it.

Significance is another need that we all want to be fulfilled. Is your partner feeling unique and appreciated? Do they feel like you need and desire them? Try to show them how much you love them and try spending more quality time together.

The need for significance is always followed by the need for variety. Any healthy relationship will go through changes, and this is what fulfills this need. As you learn to better communicate with one another, you will grow closer and understand each other more.

Every human being yearns for love and connection. Your relationship is at the core of these feelings, and satisfying this need is essential. Find out how you both let these feelings flow and learn to enjoy being in a loving relationship.

Growth and contribution will always go hand in hand. We are ever-changing beings, and growth is only natural to take place sooner or later. But you want to grow together with your partner, and this is where contribution plays a role. You have to work toward the same goals if you want a long and steady relationship.

Are your partner’s needs being met?

Let’s say you want the best for your romantic relationship. We are almost sure that everyone wants that. But there is one key detail that you should not skip if you want to begin working on your relationship. This is actually very simple and intuitive, but you need to know how your partner is feeling, what they want from your connection, and whether they want to work with you on this mission.

If you want to know what the thoughts of your loved one are, all you need to do is listen to them. This might sound easy, but in reality, it is not. Listening is a necessary skill that few of us possess without some practice.

You have to always be aware of what your partner is telling you. Observe all the clues, be they verbal or non-verbal. If there is something that you are not really sure about, just ask. This is the best way to find out what goes through their mind. Assuming things is always harmful and unfair to everybody. Find the right time and ask the right questions.

Most of the time, people communicate what they are feeling in some way, but if we are not listening and paying attention, we will miss all of the important information, and that is only slowing the progress of the communication in the relationship.
