Acknowledge the loss

There are few events in life as painful as the death of your spouse. If you are not sure if you will ever survive this overwhelming loss, I want you to know that it is natural to feel this way.

At times, you might not even be sure if you even have the energy and desire to heal. You are probably frightened by the journey you’re about to begin.

It can be overwhelming, and even lonely. You will read here a couple of practical suggestions that will help you move toward healing in your own grief experience.

You might feel confused, which is normal, and quite appropriate, especially since you have lost a part of yourself. When you experience the death of someone you’ve shared your life with and especially depend on, feeling completely disoriented is normal.

You have to face a very difficult but essential need to mourn, because it is an open expression of your feelings regarding the death of your loved one.
