5. Bringing up the argument in the future

So, you have an argument with your spouse, right? This is normal; everybody has them. It is okay. But what are you doing after the argument comes to an end? This is extremely important and can define your relationship and what happens to it.

Now, we already told you that talking with your partner about your argument and discussing the possible causes of it, and so on and so forth, is something healthy that everyone should do.

But there is a difference between doing this in a healthy manner and bringing up old arguments in an aggressive way. Even if the argument has been resolved and is not one of those fights that come back every time, why would you bring it up?

What is in the past should remain in the past. By bringing up former disagreements, you’re actually just beginning a new argument and demonstrating to your spouse that previous agreements and settlements are meaningless.
