3. Work or kids come first (your partner not really)
Many parents think that it’s normal for them to focus more on their children’s lives than on their romantic relationships with their partners. While that might be 100% true in some cases (is it in yours?), it doesn’t have to be like that all the time, especially if your kids are grown-ups and have families of their own.
Experts say that parents, especially new ones, need to have their balance and learn how to manage the time they spend with their partners as well as with their children, and of course, how to schedule family time.
There are times when you’re busy and you need to focus your attention and energy on work or on your family, and that’s totally understandable. The problem comes when you always do that and neglect your spouse. That might work for a while, but the divorce will be near.
