6. Your spouse constantly checks their phone or looks at their feet

When you like someone, you’re fully engaged in the conversation and interested in what they say to you. You show it through your body language and the nonverbal cues we mentioned above, such as maintaining eye contact, leaning toward the person, and nodding your head.

But when we’re bored and find the other person annoying and dull, we’ll focus our attention on other things but them. This applies to your life partner too. If you start noticing she or he is somehow absent when you’re talking to them, it may be a sign your spouse hates you.

For instance, she or he may check their phone all the time to see if there are any notifications or texts. Or they may constantly look at the clock. If they are bored, they may also look at their feet and think about something else instead of listening to you.
