In some cases, you may not receive the attention and support you need from a partner with this disorder. Maintaining existing friendships and cultivating new ones can help you find emotional fulfillment outside of your relationship.
When you deal with a narcissistic partner, you may find that they’re trying to isolate you. They may try to maintain control and dominance, so they have your attention all the time.
However, consider that you also need support and attention. If you’re not getting enough of these two from the relationship, you have every right to look for them somewhere else.
