4. Set clear boundaries
Some people with narcissistic personality disorder may feel entitled to meddle in every part of their lives. That’s because, in their opinion, your main purpose in life may be to fulfill their requirements. They may not realize you have your own needs as well.
Setting boundaries can be very beneficial for people who deal with a narcissistic partner. Use simple and clear communication, and be willing to walk away if they don’t respect the boundaries that you set.
Maybe your partner constantly calls or texts you when you’re out with friends. They may even become hostile and accuse you of not offering them the attention they need at the moment.
You could reply with a simple, “I’m busy, but I’ll get back to you when I can.”
Expect pushback, but try to hold firm.
