These 8 Superstitions Might Change Your Love Life

6. Count Your Horses

This very specific superstition has its roots in Nebraskan folklore, and according to it, if you shake a man’s hand after encountering 99 horses and one white mule, that man will be your future husband. Whether that implies you filling your stable with horses—and obviously one mule—or just seeing them one day, we suppose that’s up to fate.

Now, we don’t know which of the two options is more likely to happen, but our guess is that there are many other ways to know when your male partner is the one you’ll end up marrying.

Much like the chicken coop superstition from Germany, it’s pretty unlikely you’ll be anywhere near this many equine creatures anytime soon, so this old wives’ tale is probably unrealistic to believe in at the moment.
