4. They Take Full Responsibility for Their Actions
If your cheating partner starts gaslighting you when you confront them, it’s a clear sign that they don’t actually feel regret for what they have done to you.
On the other hand, if your significant other truly wants to keep you in their life, if he or she genuinely feels bad for cheating and regrets their mistake, they won’t come up with vague statements but will offer you a sincere apology and take full responsibility.
In fact, if your partner was bold enough to hurt you so much, then they should be bold enough to stand by their actions and admit it. This obviously won’t ease your pain, but it will definitely help you in the whole process of rekindling your relationship—that is, if you’re willing to give your partner a second chance.
